48.4.1 Complete, but stuck back together from six seperate pieces. The rim shows one definite chip, and several small ones. The leaves on top of the rim have worn away in patches. The main zone also shows patches of wear, the surface revealing different colours, some paler clay, and some more orange. A white deposit is evident on the thick black band above the foot as well as some small scratches. The thin black band around the rim of the foot has mostly worn away. Inside, the black has scratches and flaked away to reveal the reserved clay. There is also more white deposit on the inside walls of the pot.

The largest part of the white bands has worn away, as has some of the paint on the foot. There are white and gritty deposits in the mouth and under the handle. The glaze below the meander is streaky. There is also colour loss on the back of the body but this appears to be due to firing.

Some bits of the colour have been peeled off (rim, handle, neck, body) and there are some small spots that are pitted off (rim, body). Lastly, there is a gouge under one of the side handles and another one on the central part of the base.

51.4.8 Complete. The body mended from a number of joining fragments. Glaze flaked off on the top of the rim, body and handles. Small chip on one of the horizontal handles. The main zone decoration remains similarly intact, except for a few scratches on the surface, and in small patches, a misty light grey deposit. There is also some of this deposit around the ends of all three handles. Thinly applied glaze, especially on the back side of the vessel, allowing for the colour of the clay to be seen. On the resting surface of the foot is a chalky white deposit.
51.7.11 Repaired in numerous places, with metal hooks at the lower joins; repainted on the lower body. Chipped slightly on the rim and foot.
51.7.8 Intact. Gloss is in very good condition, shiny, with slight scratches on rim, neck and body. Surface of underside somewhat eroded, with white deposits.

58.2.4 Intact apart from a section of the spur which seems to have broken off. There is a deep crack on the inner side of the handle at the bottom. Also a dent in the body by the base of the handle, and the base is misshapen, both of which may have been done before firing (?). In a few areas the paint has been worn, and there are minor chips.
59.2.7 All that remains of the mummified cat is the head and neck, from which most wrappings have been removed. The head is in a good state of preservation, showing whiskers & teeth. Enclosed note written in pencil on the back of a printed piece of paper is also well preserved and legible. Cork stopper, seemingly original to the 1890s acquisition of the head, is covered in newspaper which is also well preserved and legible.

Around the rim of the mouth, the glaze has been worn and scratched away to reveal the reserved clay, as it has around the handles. The decoration on the main zone is still fairly visible, but is worn in patches and flaking around the edges. At many parts, clay flaked off. Around the top of the foot is greyish white deposit, also evident around the handles. There is a large chip in the foot. White has faded.

The black colour misfired to red in certain places (e.g. at the handle and at the external side of the rim, underside of the foot, tongues, below the tongues, where the thin line is now reddish-yellow). There are deposits on the exterior of the body and the underside of the foot. Small chips to the rim.
67.7.1 Incomplete. The figure has broken in half and been glued back together, however, at the back, there is a chip missing still. The grey colour is interspersed with deposit of a dark brown colour, which is even more prominant on the back. The features of the face have almost all worn away, except for the nose. Around the front and sides of the base are white and dark grey deposits.
67.7.3 Reed not preserved. Silver has broken away in places but has lost some of its glaze and lustre in others. The bronze has deteriorated to green in places. Some repair to silver and bulbous neck. The instrument is in fact sturdy despite its outward appearance.

The surface is worn, with cracks to the glaze surrounding the attachment of the knob and white deposits throughout the decoration. Yellow deposits on the underside of the lid, just outside the flange.
68.12.3 Complete and intact. Yellowish-red accretions on the knob and top of lid as well as the underside mar the surface. The outer part of the lid is worn. The handle of the lid shows areas of wear, especially on the leaves. The stem and underside of the rim are covered in pinky/beige deposit. A white deposit occupies most of the underside.
70.3.3 Half of one handle broken and missing. Decoration worn (and missing entirely in patches where a ghost can be seen). Whitish gray deposits on interior and on preserved handle, as well as around the base (at join with body and on underside).
71.12.6 Large parts of bronze have broken away from the sides of the curved section. The most important aspect to note is the deterioration in colour to blue, green, black and brown. Only in a couple of areas does the true colour of the bronze show through. Deposits under the handle where it joins the body. Small hole to one side of the curved section.
73.9.2 Fragment. Handle covered in scratches and patches of wear, especially on left arm. At the bottom of the left arm of handle is a small chip with a white patch in the middle. Rim, and both inside and outside of fragment show more small scratches. Larger scratch diagonally down left, through black band directly beneath the ivy leaf.
73.9.23 The surface of the fragment appears to be in fairly good condition, except for a few small areas of grey deposit. The back of the fragment varies in colour, moving from red to black and then grey. The surface however is again in fairly good condition with no real evidence of wear except for a few small scratches.
73.9.6 Fragment. The front of the fragment has a few small scratches in it, as well as a patch of pinky/grey deposit at the top of the figure. To the right of the figure, the fragment has split in half, so only the back half remains. The back of the fragment has small scratches and a couple of chips in the surface of the glaze.
73.9.8 Two fragments. (a)The glaze on the rim and the inside of the fragment shows a few small scratches. On the rim and the outside of the fragment there are a few small areas of milky/white deposit. The black blob reveals an area which may have been the base of a handle. The colour of the clay inside here, is a more pink colour. Like the first fragment, fragment (b) shows evidence of small scratches on the glaze, both inside and out, but seems in fairly good condition, with no evidence of deposit.
74.7.3 Small chip on rim, where gloss is worn; Good quality black gloss; Gloss flaked off rim and around the ring of the foot; white deposits on inside and on handle. Red misfired line around the ring of the foot probably caused during the firing in the kiln.
74.7.5 Complete. Has been glued back together from two pieces. Is entirely covered by dark deposit, possibly from the action of fire. Thought to be from a burnt grave. There is a lot of flaking, revealing white. The features of the face are distinguishable, but are worn in places. The back is much lighter in colour, but still covered in brown/green deposit and feels rough to the touch.
