Shape_description | Tall inslanting rim with plain round lip, sharply turning to a short shoulder that broadens to an ovoid body, which tapers to a tall moulded foot, comprised of a beveled top, two concave elements, a carination, below which a scotia above a torus. The resting surface is ridged and the underside consists of a pointed convex centre, within a tapering concave part. Two u-shaped handles, round in section, rise from the bottom of the shoulder to high above the rim. On either side of each handle is a pointed lug. |

Decoration | Interior reserved, except for a narrow band of black glaze at the top. Exterior: black-glazed rim and handles, including handle attachment points, lower part of body, and foot. The shoulder is decorated with pendant leaves, vertically arranged, divided by a narrow black band from the body frieze which consists of, on either side, a 12-petalled horizontal palmette between two sideways 14-petalled palmettes central. Lines of dots emerge from either side of the middle leaf on each palmette. Underside reserved. |

Condition | Lid missing. Complete, and intact for handles, broken in 3 parts, reattached. Surface damaged with scratches, pitting, white deposits, and dark stains. |
