Decoration | The top surface of the rim is reserved (but glossed), however the side bears a black meander pattern. The scene consists of two chariots, the left one with three horses (below their knees the piece is missing) and the right one with four (only two of the heads remain). The left hand side charioteer is not visible, however it is obvious that he was holding and stretching the bridle. The upper part of the chariot is also visible. The second charioteer wears white chiton and red stephane (fillet) on the head and his chariot is visible. Each figure has incisions around its edges, as well as for the depiction of details. Some parts of the horse bodies are emphasized by added red colour. Body: The surface is black. The interior of the neck and body is also black, apart from a red band at the top of the rim. |
