Shape_description | Gill classes it as a kantharos of the 'Ampurias class'. Sessile kantharos with low handles. Sparkes 1968, 9, notes that the sessile kantharos with low handles is the most practical, albeit least elegant, of the fifth century kantharoi. Slightly outturned, rounded rim; tall, flaring wall, offset from shallow rounded bowl, divided from moulded ring foot by groove. Two vertical strap handles loop down from rim down to just above junction of wall and bowl. |
