Shape Mug
Shape_description Gill's 'Pheidias shape'. Wide mouth with a flat rim. The handle is in two pieces branching out sideways along the rim at the top. Base is flat.

Decoration Around the base of the neck is a string of tiny round impressions. Below handle are twenty-one stamped eggs arranged in an inverted triangle. Body is ribbed vertically. Moulded groove around foot. Object is black all over, although top half of body is lighter, almost brown.
Inscriptions
Condition Intact. White, gritty deposits inside the object. Lustre has worn away on mouth and top half of body. Small chips out of rim. Small scratches on base.
