Deep Acrocup (belongs to the Acropolis Group of Bloesch, Formen, 161 ff.); slightly offset rim with heavy moulding at the top of rim; ridge at the top of the low stem. Base is concave.

Decoration

Exterior and interior black glazed, turning to red in places (especially around complete handle). Underside of foot reserved with one black band.

Inscriptions

Condition

Part of the body and the rim mended from a rejoining fragment. Part of one handle and two parts of rim missing. Lustre remains. White deposits around the stem. Chips to the rim. Parts of the gloss scratched off the remaining handle. The gloss on the interior is not lustrous. On the larger part of the interior thinly applied and fired red. More shiny on the stem and the underside of the foot. Noted in pencil: 'BM' and '26'
