Exterior: thick band on underside of rim and top of body; a figural and floral frieze, between a pair of thin bands. depict vertical 6-7 petalled palmettes, alternating between upright and inverted, joined by tendrils, and a silhouetted rearing lion, profile to right. Lower part of body glazed black, fading to brownish-orange; brownish-orange band overlapping from inside of foot to resting surface.
