Shape Kylix
Shape_description Shallow ellipsoid bowl with rounded rim, underneath which are attached two horizontal round sections, curving up above the rim, rectangular in shape, and bent in at the tops. Deep angled ring foot, with a narrow, rounded resting surface, convex on the interior vertical surface, and flat on the underside.
Material Terracotta
Fabric Campanian
Fabric_description
Munsell_color 5YR 5/6
Decoration The surface is treated with a metallic black glaze, applied more casually (streaky) on the lower part of the body; reserved band just above foot and reserved (matte grey) underside except for a black concentric circle. There is a single incised concentric circle in the tondo. The iridescence and matte grey areas suggest that the lower part of the vase was (inadvertently?) exposed to (too much) heat, either in the factory or afterwards.
