Decoration Inside is black with a reserved ring in centre (around hole) and a reserved band on the junction of the offset rim with the body. Rim is black outside and there is a moulded, reserved ridge above handles on the junction of the rim with the body. Two handles, one on each side are black on top and reserved underneath. Below the shoudler ridge is a band of lotus buds with dots all joined by a chain below, black band, band of eight inverted birds (cockerels and hens (?) one smudged) with a dot rosette. The figure zone is framed by thinly painted brown lines, two on each end. Black band follows and three thin brown lines which encircle the black rays rising out from the root of the stem.
Inscriptions
Condition Incomplete. Stem and foot missing leaving a hole in the centre of the cup. Deposits on rim, handles and inside. Glaze remains shiny on exterior surface, although flaking on large part of the rim and the handles. Thinly applied on the rim and fired red. Part of the black paint of the decoration fired red. Black paint smudge partly covering a bird on main band. Scratches on the top of the rim and handles.
