Shape Bowl; one-handler
Shape_description Slightly flaring rim, flattened at the top, but sloping inwards; angled wall that curves sharply to a shallow bowl; horizontal, horseshoe-shaped strap handle, attached just below the rim and rising slightly above; broad torus ring foot.

Decoration Black gloss except reserved resting surface and underside, decorated with a black dot at the centres, surrounded by two black concentric thin bands and a broaded black band. Reserved band on the junction of the ring foot and the body. Stamped decoration in the centre of the bowl, comprised of seven palmettes between two concentric bands of stamped eggs framed by parallel grooves.
Inscriptions
Condition Intact and mended from 6 fragments. Small part of the ring of the base is broken off. Small chips on rim. Glaze worn off at a spot on the interior. Gloss is not lustrous especially on the interior and the lower part of the body of the exterior. Deposits on the underside of the foot.
Technique/Style Black glaze
Provenance Tamassos or said to be from an old tomb in Cyprus (Polis?): cf. JHS 1890.
